Getting eyelash extensions may seem daunting, especially if it’s your first time. Lash extensions aren’t exactly the same as lash strips, where a strip of false lashes is glued to your lash line. Instead, a lash professional will apply a single extension to each of your natural lashes during a 90 min - 2 hr appointment. Although the process is more time consuming, lash extensions can last up to 8 weeks, be completely damage-free, and save you time during your morning routine.  Not to mention it highlights your natural beauty! To help you have the best first-time lash experience possible, we’ve put together a few things to consider before your appointment.

What eyelash extensions do you want?

Before you make your appointment, think about what kind of lash extensions you want. Do you want a bold and dramatic set of lashes, or something more natural?  If you’re on the fence, we've provided a photo of the different techniques for you to select from.

 

 

During Your Appointment 

When you arrive for your appointment, your lash tech will conduct a consultation to understand your lash goals. After that, you’ll lay down for a “lash nap” as your technician applies the natural lashes. During your appointment, your eyes will be closed and your lash artist will use under-eye stickers, gel patches, or a similar product to separate the bottom lashes from your top lashes. This prevents your top and bottom lashes from becoming glued together. Once your lashes are ready, your technician will apply your lash extensions to your natural lashes. Depending on the lash look you described in your consultation, this process can take anywhere between 90 minutes to 2 hours.

After Your Appointment

Once your lashes are done, you’ll be able to take a shower, go swimming, work out, and use oil-based products immediately after leaving the spa. Your new lashes can last up to 8 weeks, so you can enjoy your new look for weeks to come. To make your lashes last as long as possible, your lash artist will offer an aftercare kit. The kit is specially formulated to nourish and condition both your extensions and natural lashes to keep you looking fabulous until your next appointment!
